My name is Debbie Smith Myers, Alpha Beta '74, and I am the membership adviser for the Alpha Delta Chapter of Phi Mu. After serving as the phi adviser for the past four years, I am excited about this new role. Phi Mu has been an important part of my life for the past 40 years and I love working with the women at Ole Miss. We are excited to announce that the recruitment dates for fall 2014 will be September 15-21. There are several changes this year and I wanted to make sure you are fully aware of them. First, if you want to help during recruitment (during the parties and setup/cleanup) you must be on the list we submit to Panhellenic. If your name is not on the list, you will not be allowed in the house. Please respect that. Second, if you have a daughter going through recruitment, you will not be allowed in the house during this process. I would also like to remind you that absolutely NO ONE is allowed upstairs during the week of recruitment, even if you have a daughter living in the house. Please respect this rule. We also ask that you refrain from calling any of the actives during the week of recruitment. We are stressing confidentiality this year during recruitment and ask that you respect this request. Bid Day will be held on Sunday, the 21st. Bids will be handed out at 1 p.m. in the Grove. We invite you to join us on this exciting day. The only gifts allowed in the house will be the ones provided by the Chapter. Please give any extra gifts at a later time. Now, the most important thing you can do for us is writing reference letters for potential new members and getting them to us as early as possible! Updated reference forms and the legacy introductions forms are available online at www.phimu.org. Our National Headquarters is requesting that you submit these forms online. This is the easiest and quickest way for us to receive them. All legacy forms must be submitted by July 1 so that they can be verified through Headquarters. We are asking for all forms that are mailed in to be submitted no later than August 1. Forms can be mailed to: Phi Mu Fraternity Caroline Wendling, Reference Chairman P.O. Box 8198 University, MS 38677 We're looking forward to a great fall recruitment! If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.
