The Browns will perform a southern gospel concert at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 29 at First Church of God, 1005 S. Jackson St. in Red Bluff. It is truly a family affair when The Browns hit the stage with their vocals and proficient instrumental mu - sical stylings. They exude excitement and offer a life changing experience to all who hear them. The Browns deliver the powerful message of the gos- pel through word and song that engage audiences of all ages. The Browns have been touring across the U.S. since the group began it's full-time ministry 13 years ago. This heralded group began on the local and state level and has expanded and grown into a national touring group. Fr om s in gi ng m or e th an 30 show at the Americana Theatre in Branson, Mo. to Dollywood Theme park stages, to singing on more than 10 royal Carribean and Carnival cruise ships, this award winning family will inspire you with their close knit family harmony and tal - ent. Opening the show will be Nic Val, bass singer. Touring Browns to share Southern gospel in Red Bluff ConCert By Marilyn Adams Delays can be frustrat- ing. Yet, when we consider that God orchestrates all delays it can change our at- titude towards them. God will use delays to reveal the hidden impatience in our hearts, and whether we will yield or not yield to the temptation to take matters into our own hands. There are many ac - counts in the Bible of inten- tional delays. Exodus 32:1 says, "Now when the peo- ple saw that Moses delayed coming down from the mountain, the people gath- ered together to Aaron, and said to him, "Come, make us gods that shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has be - come of him." We find this principle of delay in Deuteronomy 8:2. It says, "And you shall re - member that the Lord your God led you all the way these forty years in the wil- derness, to humble you and test you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His command - ments or not." God knew what was in the hearts of the children of Israel. He wanted them to see what their hidden agendas were. God intentionally led Is - rael to the Red Sea, just as Pharaoh and his army were closing in on them. The Red Sea was impossible to cross. They were stuck and began to complain. Exodus 14:13 says, "And Moses said to the people, "Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyp - tians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever." God's intention is revealed in verse 17 which says, "...So I will gain honor over Pharaoh and over all his army, his chariots, and his horsemen." If you remember the story, God caused the Red Sea to part. The children of Israel went over on dry ground, but Pharaoh and his army were drowned. God's intentional delay overthrew the whole Egyp - tian army. Nothing is im- possible for God. There is another delay recorded in John 11. Laza- rus, Mary, and Martha lived in Bethany. They were friends of Jesus. When Lazarus got sick, his sis - ters sent word to Jesus to come. Verse six says, "So when He heard that he was sick, He stayed two more days in the place where He was." Why did Jesus de - lay? Verses 41 and 42 give us the answer. He prays in verse 41 and thanks the Fa- ther for hearing Him. Then He says, "And I know that you always hear Me, but be- cause of the people who are standing by I said this, that they may believe that You sent Me." This is still true today. Jesus wants us to know that He was sent by the Fa - ther to save us from our sins. John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." God speaks of another intentional delay. It is re - corded in 2 Peter 3. In verse 4 the question is raised: where is the prom- ise of His coming? The an- swer for the delay is in verse 9. It says, "The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is long-suf - fering toward us, not will- ing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance." He has delayed His com - ing for you. If you have never put your faith and trust in Jesus Christ as your Savior, I urge you to do it today. Don't delay. Ro - mans 10:13 says, "For who- ever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved." Salvation is simply believ- ing that Jesus died on the cross for your sins. You be- lieve in your heart that He did it for you personally. You accept His gift of salva- tion for yourself. Ephesians 1:13 says, "In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in who also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise." Marilyn Adams accepted Jesus Christ as her per - sonal Savior in 1958. A de- bilitating accident in 1977 radically changed her life. Through that crucible of af- fliction, the Lord wooed her into an intimate relation- ship with Him. He taught her timeless truths that sus- tain her, and still permeate her present teachings.
