We welcomed nine new members and they are developing into Men of Principle under the leadership of Vice President of Member Education Joe rusek '16. They are leaders on campus and in the community, and I look forward to watching them develop in Beta. Bob Cantrell '62, Paul Pfeiffer '64, rich Patterson '65, tom Chouinard '91, and our executive board attended the Keystone Leadership Conference in Itasca, Illinois. We attended seminars that taught us how to manage and operate the chapter, how to deal with issues, and management techniques for everyday life. The Gamma Psi colony was recognized with awards in Excellence in Self- Governance, Outstanding Housing Corporation, and Outstanding University Fraternity Advisor. No other chapter or colony at the event was honored with three awards, so thank you to everyone who has helped establish Gamma Psi as a leader. This summer, alumni and members look forward to regaining our charter status at the 175th convention August 7-10, in Oxford, Ohio. We have come a long way and I am excited to see what the future will bring for Gamma Psi. I encourage any alumni in the area to visit and see the success of the colony firsthand. Fraternally, mitch Cavanaugh '15 President cavana64@msu.edu a large transportation company located in Ann Arbor, Michigan. "Being a Beta helped build character, my sense of teamwork, communication skills, and other traits, which have allowed me to be successful both personally and professionally." From his success, Gary shares his advice for members beginning their job search. "First and foremost: be yourself. Figure out what YOU want to do through internships, interviews, webinars, and conversations with family, friends, and faculty. Do your homework on the position you are interested in, the company and the associated industry. Most importantly, when ready, let them know you want the position." Since graduating, Gary has stayed in touch with several of the members from MSU. Through the friendships he made and the skills the chapter taught him, Gary looks forward to seeing the colony grow and succeed at Michigan State. Gary and his wife, Lisa, have two children and live in Plymouth, Michigan.
