Anchor Gamma Xi Fall 2013 F or nearly 60 years, the rich traditions of Delta Gamma have made a significant impact on the lives of Gamma Xi women at Texas Tech. Many of our most special college memories involve our Gamma Xi sisters. DG's values and rich history have sustained generations of our sisterhood and impacted the members of the university community. It was through these memories that a very important project was born— Building on a Tradition of Excellence, the Gamma Xi Campaign. It has been an exciting past few months witnessing our project draw closer to our $750,000 goal, and we hope that you feel connected to this special time in Gamma Xi's history. InvestIng In Our Future Our home at #5 Greek Circle has provided a safe and nurturing environment for our sisters to grow and learn for more than 40 years, but newer technology and building codes have dramatically changed. It has become clear that our home can no longer meet the needs of our active members. Your investment in Gamma Xi will yield a facility that complements efforts to produce outstanding members, scholars, and leaders for years to come. The goal is to create a facility that will allow our sisters to learn and grow in a comfortable, safe living environment and to maintain a competitive edge in the TTU Greek community. The ability to recruit and retain the best young women requires that our facility be among the best with respect to modernization, educational programming, computer/Internet access, and safety. the COmmItment OF Our sIsters As we embark on this journey for a new home, thank you to all of the sis- ters who have provided early financial gifts to bring these plans to reality. To date, 148 sisters have looked into their hearts, reached into their wallets, and donated $627,395 to the campaign for Gamma Xi. Behind each gift: a memory, a reason, and a purpose for contributing. Some give back to ensure the future success of Delta Gamma and others to commemorate the lifelong friendships formed there. Whether you're from the pledge class of 1954 or 2014, we need your help to raise the remaining $122,605. With 1,900 active alumnae, if 1,000 each gave $100 a year for the next five years, we could see our project to completion. YOur Part In the Plan Now is the time to come together as a sisterhood and make a historical difference. No matter the amount you choose to give, your contributions are appreciated. Remember our campaign is unique in that we accept five-year pledges, providing you with the opportunity to maximize your giving potential. Please fill out the enclosed pledge form and return it to Gamma Xi Chapter today or make a donation online by visiting http://dggammaxi.kintera.org/donate. We hope you will join us as we show that we are truly committed to lives of excellence at Delta Gamma. Together we can accomplish great things.
