We had alumni and brothers attend from the 1960s to the present. It is great to see that the bond we formed during our time at Alabama Alpha is still strong. If you missed the events this year, more will be planned in Atlanta, Birmingham, and Auburn in the future. I have some announcements. First, we will be sending out an Alabama Alpha alumni survey later this year. I want to know what you would like to see from the Chapter, our alumni base, and the alumni board. It will most likely be online and the link will be included in the next newsletter. We will also be rolling out an annual fund campaign in late spring or summer. This is to fund alumni events like the ones we had in Atlanta and Birmingham and to form scholarships. The Carlson Leadership Academy was held in Atlanta in late February and it was great to hear where Sigma Phi Epsilon is headed from our national board of directors. Chapters across the country, including Alabama Alpha, are keeping our values alive by practicing and living by our principles of virtue, diligence, and brotherly love. As always, I encourage you to stop by the house if you are visiting or just passing through. War Eagle! Fraternally, bryan huff '00 Alabama Alpha Alumni Board President spealumniboard@gmail.com F all semester included the renovations of two of Alabama Alpha's most under-used rooms. The pool room in the bottom hall and the TV room in the top hall were both painted and received new furniture and artwork. Joe rodrigues '17, tony bonaroti '17, cameron brothers '17, and alex lutterbach '17 worked alongside corbin tips '16, brett larson '16, and our late brother barrett "bear" townsend '13 to renovate the pool room. They painted the walls purple with a red stripe incased in yellow to match the new purple and red felt on the pool table. nolan griffin '14 stained the shelf and bench to add a classic look to the cinderblock room. Tony added his personal touch on the far wall above the TV as well. He painted crossing SigEp and Alabama state flags surrounded by our letters, our founding year and, of course, Alabama Alpha. Adding to the smell of fresh paint, Davis edwards '15 and Wade swofford '15 worked with Corbin and David seawright '17 and ty cate '17 to refurbish the TV room. They painted the walls burnt orange and navy blue. A gently used poker table now sits in the middle, a generous donation by the Weiger family. brothers Work together to renovate two rooms at the chapter house Finished pool room.
