Anchored in Tradition F or over 125 years, Delta Gamma has been at the heart of Greek life at the University of Iowa. With more than 2,400 initiates, Tau Chapter has nurtured and sustained women during some of the most formative years of their lives, cultivating lasting friendships in the process. Since our founding on November 9, 1886, Tau Chapter has offered women the opportunity to be an integral part of the tradition that is Delta Gamma. While there may be some differences in today's Chapter compared to the one you knew, there is still an undeniable connection between all members of Delta Gamma at the University of Iowa. On today's college campus, sororities play an even bigger role in the development of young women than ever before. The skills that women develop during their time in Delta Gamma prepare them to be motivated and successful in their personal and professional life, just as they did for us as undergraduate members. Our Chapter house at 305 S. Summit Street is clearly the focus of undergraduate life for Delta Gamma. It has been a home away from home for hundreds of young women and a classroom where our sisters have learned personal integrity, personal responsibility, and intellectual honesty. If we want to continue the tradition of excellence at Delta Gamma at the University of Iowa, we must ensure that we are providing a modern, updated, and competitive facility.
