SIGMA NEWS 2 Academics and Philanthropy Top Priorities Highest GPA Sigma Chapter is off to a wonderful start this spring semester. We are proud to announce that we received our highest chapter GPA of 3.37 this fall and have continued to invest in our philanthropy with Girls on the Run. Our chapter boarded buses at 5:30 a.m. and headed to Arrowhead Stadium to spend the morning volunteering at Girls on the Run 5k. Our women were able to help in a variety of ways; some were part of the motivation team for the 5k warm-up, others served as route cheerleaders, and we had a large group passing out beverages and snacks at the end of the race. Full Social Calendar Other successful fall semester activities include our Dad's Weekend, Diosa de Luna Formal, and Holiday Tea. We hosted a cookie decorating party for Valentine's Day with the men of Kappa Sigma and also co-hosted a Queen of Hearts Valentine's social with the men of Beta Theta Pi. The coming weeks hold Mom's Weekend, the Easter Egg Hunt, Crescent Classic Pancake Breakfast, and Crescent Ball Formal. GFB Sisterhood I had the opportunity at the beginning of March to attend the Gamma Phi Beta President's Academy in Dallas, Texas. It was an action- packed weekend full of seminars and sisterhood activities. I am so grateful to have met many other chapter presidents and learn more about the chapters they lead. Attending the Academy helped open my eyes to how immense our sisterhood truly is; and I couldn't be more proud to represent Sigma Chapter. We are so proud of what we have accomplished this year and expect to continue our successes in both academics and community involvement. Thank you to our advisors for all that you do for our chapter, and to all of our alumnae for your continuous support of Sigma. We would not be where we are without you.
