Annotator matthew Douglas '16 Tulsa, Okla. Magister andrew tunnel '16 Bentonville, Ark. Risk Manager Steton Gilley '16 Godley, Texas T he Gamma Delta Chapter of Sigma Chi has made some vast improvements in the past couple of years, but especially in 2013. With the start of 2014, we are looking to build on our recent successes in all areas. Our members and officers are excited to get to work early this new year and lay a great foundation for the fall. Welcoming 33 new Brothers We had the privilege of initiating 33 new brothers into our Chapter in January. Each member of this large pledge class has done a great job of fitting in with the Chapter and has taken great steps toward being a contributing brother for years to come. Our new recruitment team is looking forward to this summer to build on the success of last year. With a large crop of legacies and strong footholds in many areas across the region, Gamma Delta's future looks bright. Community and Campus involvement This spring, the brothers made a goal to be more involved in on- campus student organizations. We have already seen the fruits of our efforts with the election of former Consul Patrick alland '14 to IFC treasurer. Our Chapter Balfour award winner, Connor Davis '14, looks forward to representing Gamma Delta in the Balfour award process and to build on the success we have recently had with the award. For the past couple of years, our Chapter has seen great improvement in its shows, and last semester we placed fourth in Freshman Follies with the women of Gamma Phi Beta. This winter we paired with Kappa Delta for Varsity Revue and are poised for a great show. Spring Sing planning is just underway, but our guys are confident in creating a top-level performance with Kappa Kappa Gamma. Philanthropy is an area where we have grown tremendously in the past year. We are very excited to hold our annual philanthropy event, Derby Days, to support the Emily Grace Stiegler Foundation and the Huntsman Cancer Research Foundation. We are concluding the building of our Habitat for Humanity house that coincided with Homecoming last fall. Spring alumni and Family events The Chapter hosted a legacy day event that welcomed a number of legacies and their fathers, uncles, and grandfathers to the Chapter house. The event included attending the OSU basketball game, a catered dinner at the Chapter house, house tours, and a presentation on Oklahoma State Greek life and Sigma Chi. In April, mothers will be invited to attend our Mom's Day event that entails a poker night and silent auction, and concludes with Spring Sing. My term as consul has already seen great successes and difficulties that have both helped and hurt us. The successes of our Chapter are a direct correlation of the hard work of our brothers and the strong support system that we have around us. However, nothing in our Chapter would be possible without our valued alumni support. As we look ahead, Gamma Delta plans to continue moving forward and looking for new ways to improve. In Hoc, Will Kuykendall '16 Consul james.kuykendall@okstate.edu (918) 605-2861 We are proud of the work we accomplished with Habitat for Humanity last Homecoming with the women of Alpha Omicron Pi. We look forward to completing the house this spring. Gamma delTa CHapTer lookS Toward FuTure 2014 ExECUTIVE OFFICERS
