long-awaited security system. In addition to an overhaul of the exterior
locks, high-definition cameras were installed to cover perimeter and
entrances on a system capable of supporting further expansion. Ongoing
improvements to the second- and third-floor living areas have resulted in
renovated ceilings and new flooring in the hallways and common rooms.
In 2013 we put together several events that we are looking to continue with
as fixtures on the annual Gamma Eta calendar. In November, ATĪ© hosted
alumni and active members for our first Alumni Awards Banquet. For the
spring, an alumni golf tournament has been organized for May 3, and we
look forward to seeing many of you there for a day of friendly competition
and brotherhood in the Texas Hill Country.
As always, we appreciate all alumni feedback. If you would like to
reconnect with the chapter or know of any potential new members, please
do not hesitate to reach out to me or come by the house. Thank you for
your continued support.
Love & Respect,
Austin Saathoff '11

Inaugural Alumni Awards Banquet
T
he first-ever Alumni Awards Banquet was a successful run at what will
become a signature fall alumni event. Around 25 alumni and 30 active
members came together over barbecue brisket to celebrate highly active
alumni members. Mike Martinez '92 was given the Brother of the Year
Award for his work looking into the history of our chapter and for sharing
what he collected with the active chapter by giving history lessons at the
house. Jason Crawford '96 was given the Alumni Outreach Award for
bringing a new energy into our chapter by rebuilding connections between
actives and alumni. Finally, Tim Marwill '92 was presented with the
Alumni of the Year Award given for his enduring commitment to excel-
lence in all matters regarding our fraternity. We continue to thank these
involved individuals and hope to see more and new faces at our alumni
banquet this fall.
