The Squirrel's Nest 2 were distributed in more than 200 stores, including Bloomingdales, and sold through media channels like Shop NBC. From there she began volunteering for Dress for Success, a non-profit organization that helps women in need dress professionally for job interviews and more. "It was so enlightening to put women, many whom had never worn a suit before, in professional clothing and see the transformation. It was inspiring to see the joy on their faces." Through her experience with Dress for Success, Lisa realized how much women could benefit from her styling services, so she diversified her company to include life and style coaching, creating Tallula Tate Life & Style. She is also a certified style consultant for Stacy London's (of TV's What Not to Wear) Style for Hire Network. Today, Lisa travels across the South working with women and men of all ages, styling them for success through life's major transitions, including college, recruitment, post-college, interviewing and entering the business world. She has dressed debutantes, university presidents, CEOs, politicians, and high-profile attorneys. She also speaks professionally at universities, corporate events, associations, and women's groups. Lisa has spoken at sorority houses to help undergraduate women understand the importance of dressing professionally and appropriately. She also dressed the Alabama Homecoming queen for the last two years, including Lissa Handley Tyson '10, the Alpha Gamma Delta winner in 2012. Through all of her success, Lisa acknowledges the role Alpha Gamma Delta has played. "The social network I have through Alpha Gamma Delta is indispensable. Being able to call a sister any time and know they will be there is wonderful." She and a close group of sisters, all with college-aged children, have stayed in touch since graduating through an annual beach weekend. She enjoys talking to them about their shared experiences and helping their children and others with recruitment. Lisa and her husband, Michael, live in Atlanta, Georgia, and have one daughter, Julia. In her free time she enjoys running, reading, and traveling. Alumna Teaches Women and Men of All Ages What Not to Wear (Continued from page 1) F all semester was an incredible time of growth, challenge, and excitement for the Psi Chapter. Members were busy in a variety of activities as they sought the best for themselves and for the chapter. For the fall 2013 semester, Alpha Gamma Delta ranked third in grades on campus with an average GPA of 3.49, one of the highest in recent semesters. That is well above the all-sorority average of 3.30. According to Vice President of Scholarship Anne Pell '12, "Actives in Alpha Gamma worked diligently last semester, and it has been very encouraging to see that work pay off by our overall GPA." Last semester, we continued the 5th Quarter Initiative, a wonderful program we implemented with Phi Gamma Delta to package food from leftover athletic events and distributed each week at the West Alabama Food Bank. We donated 13,352 pounds of food during the football season, and we are eager to continue that hard work into basketball and gymnastic seasons. It has easily become one of the most treasured programs our sorority is involved with. The Psi Chapter is proud of our leaders in organizations across campus: Taylor Bannister '11 is the president of Capstone Men and Women; and Shelby Tatum '13, Sarah Jenkins '13, Callie Short '13, Andrea Rock '13, Marissa Turk '13, Emma Bjornson '13, Sara Perry '13, and Mary Peeples '13 are members of the Freshman Forum. The whole chapter has enjoyed the continuous open bidding process, which helps Alpha Gamma Delta recruit the best women on campus year-round. In November, we initiated 117 active members into our chapter, which was our largest and most esteemed pledge class to date. We have loved seeing them dive into Alpha Gamma life and represent us well on campus. We are excited to see how our members will represent Alpha Gamma Delta and our values well on campus this semester. We thank our incredible alumnae for their support, love, and dedication to our chapter. Please know that you are always welcome to stop by Psi Chapter for a visit—we would love to see you all!
