Cumberland County is accepting applications for its upcoming Citizens' Academy running March 18-May 6. The academy is free and held on Tuesdays from 6-9 p.m. at various county government locations. There will not be a session on April 22 because of a regular Board of Commissioners meeting that night. The Citizens' Academy helps citizens gain a better understanding of what county government does and how the various departments play a vital role in the community. You must be a Cumberland County resident to apply. The application is available online at www.co.cumberland.nc.us. For more information, please call 910-437-1921 or email sshutt@co.cumberland.nc.us.
