CHAMBER UPDATE ChaiSrpeaks would like to thank Steve Mannell and the Chamber’s Small Business Committee. Over the last few weeks we have seen the one outcome of there efforts – the Chamber’s announcement of a new Small Business Award. Tis award is being es- tablished to recognize small business owners whose practices exemplify the mission of the Chamber and serve as role models for others who own small busi- nesses or wish to pursue a similar career path. A small business will be selected each quarter and be recognized at one of our regular events. I n n s Now we need your help by nominating small business owners in our com- munity. Tink of for profit Chamber members that are located in our county and have been in business for the last three years. Tese are people that you live and work with every day who have demonstrated success, responded to adversity, innovated, and have given back to the community. I can think of a few. Te owners of Pierro’s and Luigi’s, two local restau- rant icons that have expanded their businesses during a difficult economic period and are achieving even greater levels of success. Or Stork News, Business T sinessSpotlight Recognize Our Area’s Innovators which has innovated by hosting tea and Lego parties for little boys and girls to increase traffic to their store locations. Another example would be Bass Air Conditioning Company who has given back to the community in many ways including contributing to the United Way of Cumberland County for more than 15 straight years. Take a moment and recognize your fellow small business owners for doing their part in making our local economy an attractive place to work and do business.
