2A – Daily News – Tuesday, March 1, 2011 Community people&events Community Christian School Now Enrolling Community Christian School has opened enrollment for students for the 2011-2012 school year. Community Christian School is celebrating 40 years of offering Christian Education in Tehama County. Classes are being offered for Kindergarten through fifth grades. Community Christian School teaches a Bible based curriculum and strives to maintain a high academic standard for each student. Phonics are taught in the early grades to assure a solid foundation for reading. Math skills are progres- sive from grade to grade and our Language Arts Pro- gram is started in our Kindergarten class with the stu- dents having fun learning their language arts skills through music. All students participate in computer instruction, choir and the school library. Students are also taught character qualities that help in the making of good choices and study habits. Students are offered age appropriate out of class experiences for learning. The students have been to the San Francisco Sym- phony, the State Capital and other attractions in Sacra- mento and San Francisco. Our lower grades have been to Turtle Bay in Redding, the California Department of Forestry, the Pumpkin Patch and other local sites in and around Red Bluff. Parents choose Community Christian School for a well-rounded education and smaller class sizes. Class- rooms are kept to a maximum of 18 students per teacher. This enables a greater amount of one-on-one time for each of our students. Students are tested annually to assure grade appro- priate academic progress. The staff at Community Christian School provides a safe place for children to learn and grow. Community Christian School is a member of the Association of Christian Schools International and par- ticipates in Tehama County Department of Education programs. The school is located at 598 Round-Up Avenue in Red Bluff. Information is available at the school office, 527-7040. SECRET WITNESS 529-1268 A program of Tehama County Neighborhood Watch Program, Inc.
