Not the packaged variety that you pop into the toaster. Real, hot torn the iron crispy, crunchy swimming in syrup or slathered in butter and jam, waffles. Preferably I wanted them made by my mother on your tried and true waffle iron. My preferences were somewhat unreasonable. Mother is no longer with me on us earth and no longer has to make waffles just because of a child's whim. I used to have her old waffle iron but it has long ceased working. My desire for waffles had me watching the ads for a sale price on one of the modem, Teflon coated electric waffle bakers. Finally our new drugstore ran an sale, which I suspected was a loss leader item. I revved up the car and traveled to source of die advertisement As it turned out it was one whale of a loss leader, because I purchased a number of additional items from medicine to valentine cards. I could hardly wait to get home and try out the new appliance. On the front of the instruction book accompanying the waffle iron, I noted the following words. "Before using this product, read, understand, and follow these instructions. Be sure to save these instructions for future reference. Wow! Not just read instructions but they want me to understand and follow them. Okay, okay I will read them; I turn the page and note that there is a page and a half of small print instructions. Number one; This product is intended for the use in cooking waffles for human consumption. Do not use the product for any other purpose."
