4 Alpha Nu Alpha Nu Hires New Housemother Melanie Moss Bonds with Brothers O ne of the most impactful additions to Alpha Nu this year comes in the form of a new housemother, Mrs. Melanie Moss. After serving as a housemother at Kansas State University for the past two and a half years, Mrs. Moss decided to pursue greener pastures at the Beta house in Lawrence. In addition to prior experience as a housemother, she served as president of the Housemothers Association at K-State, showing her ability to go above and beyond. Mrs. Moss is a loving mother and wife and successfully balances her responsibilities with work and family. Mrs. Moss has been nothing short of fantastic. She has learned the names of the entire chapter and played a pivotal role in coordinating and setting up for the weekend celebrating 100 years of Alpha Nu in the Usher Mansion. She has been exceedingly caring and has shown great leadership. She also put together all of the internal and external decorations for the anniversary and coordinated with alumni before and during the event to ensure everything was being done correctly. When asked about her experience, she was exuberant and overwhelmingly happy. She is "so impressed with the maintaining of history and tradition in both the house and the chapter itself" and hopes to become a standard part of what makes this house so special. "I'm so happy to be involved here," Moss said. "There is never a dull moment. The freshmen and I have had a great time together and are getting acclimated to the house at the same time." She also has been extremely satisfied with the alumni and parent involvement and support. "I can call them anytime I have questions about anything or need anything and it is taken care of immediately," Moss said. She is confident that as time goes on, her responsibilities will become progressively easier as events like Turkey Pull and recruitment parties become more commonplace to her. Mrs. Moss is extremely satisfied with the respect she has received from the chapter. She says that she felt immediately accepted and made the right decision coming here. While things are nothing short of hectic now that Christmas, Turkey Pull, and finals week are right around the corner, the chapter is confident in our decision and could not be happier with Mrs. Moss.
