Members Achieve Success in Recruitment, Philanthropy and Events I t's been an amazing start to a hectic school year! Alpha Delta had a very successful recruitment and philanthropy, enjoyed a great week with Kappa Alpha Order for Homecoming, and had a great Dad's Weekend. New Member Class for 2013 Alpha Delta gained 83 incredible new members on Bid Day this year, including 12 legacies. Our Bid Day theme was GI GPhi, in which our girls dressed in camouflage. It was a very successful recruitment and rewarding Bid Day, and we are so happy to welcome our new members into our amazing sisterhood. The tradition continues to make Gamma Phi Beta SHINE! Philanthropy We had an amazing turnout and ended up going through over 1,000 grilled cheese sandwiches on the first night of our philanthropy, Grilled Cheese with the GPhi Bs, raising $2,314. We had 24 teams participate in the Crescent Classic, making it an incredible turnout. The total amount raised from t-shirt sales was $8,281; from hearts was $4,140; and $2,070 from other projects. The money we raised goes to Hearts for Huntington's, Girls on the Run, and Campfire USA. Dad's Weekend This year our Dad's Weekend was the same weekend as Mizzou's Family Weekend, so the women enjoyed not only spending time with their dads, but also the rest of their family that visited Mizzou! Events included a comedy show at Déjà Vu Comedy Club and the football game against Arkansas State. A pig roast was held at the house with the catering by Sterling. The pig roast is a tradition started by Mom Kim. GAMMA PHI BETA Events This fall Alpha Delta held several sisterhood events and is looking forward to finishing the semester strong. The members enjoyed: • Our semi-formal, Diosa, on October 11-12. The first night had a country theme; it included a bonfire and hayride. The second night was a semi-formal, followed by dancing all night long. • Initiation on Wednesday, October 16. • Homecoming on October 25-26, where we enjoyed meeting alumnae who stopped by the house to share their memories and experience what is new at the house! • Founders Day brunch on November 10, where we celebrated at 808 Richmond Ave. • Elections of new officers in November. Oh, yes, and there is school in there, too! We are busy using our new computers and study area to prepare for tests and finals. Thank you, loyal alumnae, for your continued support!
