Elaine is a Tri Delta who was initiated at OU in 2011 as an alumna initiate. This is her sixth year serving as house director. She says she still loves every minute of it! Elaine has been president of OU house directors for the past three years. This is a great position to be in because it keeps her updated on what's happening on campus and in other Greek organizations. Elaine has served on the Greek Advisory Board with President Boren. In this role, she was able to focus on the importance and benefits that the Greek community brings to OU. Elaine has attended Tri Delta house director seminars and workshops at the National Office in Arlington. She loves this because it is a great networking tool and keeps Theta Gamma in the spotlight with the national office. They love Elaine and are proud of Theta Gamma's accomplishments. Her attendance at weekly chapter meetings keeps her informed on what is going on with the chapter. The actives really like having her there because she is normally not surprised by an activity that an officer forgot to tell her about. Elaine works closely with the House Corporation in the maintenance, repairs and renovations of the house. She is the eyes and ears of the chapter and has the House Corporation and advisors in mind while making the chapter house a wonderful place to call home! Elaine hosts a cookout on the week of the OU-Texas rivalry game. Everyone comes to the event, including Boomer and Sooner (OU mascots), the cheerleaders and pom girls, as well as a DJ on Delta Beach. Members dance, sing and enjoy great burgers and hot dogs. Each year, just before the undergraduates go home for winter break, Elaine hosts Christmas with Mom in the house. It's always a fun time with lots of holiday snacks, hot cider, hot chocolate, and goodies. They sing Christmas carols and share stories of holiday traditions. Each year she is happy when the undergraduates start asking about the event. Elaine lives in the chapter house year round, so it really is her home. Her two daughters are married and live in the north Dallas area. She is blessed with five granddaughters who love to visit her.
