Tradition of Excellence (Continued from page 1) other fraternities and sororities in a close second. We were thrilled to watch the excitement of the KU campus when students attended the event. KU House Corporation of Delta Gamma P.O. Box 934 Shawnee Mission, KS 66201 Our Chapter retreat took place in Kansas City at a comedy show. This event allowed us to get to know our new members and show them the love we have for Delta Gamma. Address Service Requested Thank you so much for all of your support this past year. We were excited to see the good luck article put in the UDK for Rock Chalk Revue. It was very generous of you to send a "Welcome Back" sign when we moved back into the house after summer break. We are grateful to have such a supportive alumnae organization. E‑mail: duanemccrm@charter.net Leave Your Mark at Beta Kappa n 1929, Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity built a beautiful colonial home on Emery Drive, which now serves as a home to Delta Gamma's Beta Kappa Chapter. During WWII, many members of Sigma Phi Epsilon enlisted in the war, resulting in a decline in membership and, ulti‑ mately, the loss of their home. On April 26, 1941, Beta Kappa was the 10th National Panhellenic Conference group to colonize at the University of Kansas. Lack‑ ing adequate housing, the new Chapter experienced an exciting moment during their installation banquet when they received word that the stately home on Emery Drive was theirs! Since then, the grand sorority house has welcomed hundreds of new members, had major ad‑ ditions to its structure, and undergone significant recent renovations. I Kelly Ann Murphy Harshbarger '80 recently started her own business, Leave it to Kelly, that involves helping the elderly and animals. Sonya Likins Jury '85 is currently the presi‑ dent of AIA KC. Due to much-needed repairs, the House Corpora‑ tion is currently improving the gravel walkways surrounding the home. The new concrete walkways will incorporate commemorative bricks honoring Beta Kappa's many years of history on the KU cam‑ pus. Purchasing engraved bricks is a wonderful way to honor Delta Gamma moms, daughters, sisters, advisors, new member classes, or others who have supported Beta Kappa throughout its history. Lauren Abernathy Cody '00 welcomed the birth of her first daughter, Victoria, in February. E‑mail: laurenacody@gmail.com To order your commemorative brick, please contact Melissa Fisher Clark '98 at melissafisherclark@ gmail.com or (913) 642-2916.
