Tennessee Nu Shows
Leadership on Campus
and in the Community
A
s eminent archon, I am proud to serve
Tennessee Nu and am pleased to share
the successes of the chapter with you and the
exciting events that lay ahead.
Philanthropy
Tennessee Nu is off to a great start with
our community service. We continue our
monthly visits to Fannie Battle Day Home for
Children, and the Kick-off Cook-off, our annual
philanthropy fundraiser that SAE has chaired for
many years, helped support Fannie Battle. Two
actives are in top leadership roles for Lights on
the Lawn, a Greek-wide philanthropy concert.
We are looking forward to raising over $50,000
for the Mary Parrish Center, a shelter for women
and families, through events like a barbecue we
hosted on October 17 that was a great success.
Campus Involvement
I am proud to say that Tennessee Nu has the
highest national average GPA of any SAE
chapter. We have one of the highest Vanderbilt
fraternity GPAs, as well. Tennessee Nu
continues our leadership presence on campus.
This fall, our brothers hold positions on the
executive boards of the Interfraternity Council,
the Nicaragua Project, Vanderbilt's Manna
Project, Vanderbilt's Programing Board, and
Vanderbilt's Entrepreneurial Society.
Parent's Weekend
SAE's fall parent's weekend was thoroughly
enjoyed by all. An information session from
local alumni was held to discuss the progress of
the capital campaign with the parents, who have
continued to support our fundraising efforts. We
then hosted a tailgate with our parents catered
by Monells Restaurant.
Alumni Weekend
We enjoyed connecting with alumni during the
Homecoming tailgate on Saturday, October 5.
We had barbecue on the front lawn and a booth
set up for details and questions concerning our
progress in our capital campaign.
On behalf of our chapter, I would like to extend
our thanks and appreciation to all of the alumni,
family, and friends for their extremely generous
donations to the capital campaign. It is through
their enormous support that Tennessee Nu
continues to grow and succeed.
