Theta Data A PUBLICATION FOR ALUMNI OF OHIO THETA t SIGMA PHI EPSILON FALL 2013 HONORING OUR PAST, BUILDING OUR FUTURE SURPASSES $1 MILLION Alumni Issue Dollar-for-Dollar Challenge I t's a good time to be a SigEp at Cincinnati. The fall brought a new year and a fresh start for our 128 active members. We are also pleased to announce that due to overwhelming alumni support, we have surpassed the $1 million mark in the Honoring Our Past, Building Our Future campaign. We have increased the scope of our renovations, and thus have increased our campaign goal to $1.4 million to account for enhanced construction costs required to meet building codes as confirmed by city engineering departments. In order to help reach this increased goal, three very generous brothers: Maris Kuga '63, Paul Morris '64, and William Vadakin '94, have issued a $100,000 dollar-for-dollar matching gift challenge to their Ohio Theta brothers to spark new and increased giving to the campaign. Maris, Paul, and Bill will match every new dollar donated to the campaign up to $100,000 between now and November 30, 2013. The campaign stands to gain $200,000 ($100,000 in new gifts matched by $100,000 from the challenge donors) and bring us closer to our new goal. SUCCESS VITAL IN SECURING FUTURE OF CHAPTER HOUSE We are extremely grateful to the alumni who have gotten us to this point. Added to their generous gifts, the matching gift challenge will really help this campaign. However, it is only with equally generous gifts from the rest of our alumni, as well as the continued support of those who have already given, that we can reach our new goal and ensure our chapter house is renovated to be competitive for the future. Inside: Thank You, Loyal Alumni t 2 who have already contributed, please consider increasing or extending your five-year pledge by adding a sixth year to your commitment. If you have not given, we need your help now. Ohio Theta is fortunate to have this wonderful opportunity, and broad participation is essential to the success of the challenge. Your pledge today will go twice as far! We are indebted to Maris, Paul, and Bill for their generous gift and offer. It is imperative that we join them to raise another $100,000. This campaign represents the opportunity to preserve for future generations the incredible legacy we were given 63 years ago. It is time to join together; our goal is achievable and within sight. We ask that all Ohio Theta SigEps make a pledge today.
