Campaign Success Leads to Chapter Achievements G Actives Inspired by Alumni Generosity reetings, alumni! The exciting times for the Ohio Theta have continued. As a chapter, in conjunction with our dedicated alumni, we have continued the tradition of success not only on campus, but nationally as well. Ohio Theta Excels Academics and Awards With a chapter 128 men strong, we earned a spring semester GPA of 3.29, placing us second among fraternities. Ohio Theta also capped off a strong year athletically by placing in the top three for both basketball and softball, while finishing the year ranked second in the allsports competition. During the Greek Awards Banquet, SigEp brought home the trophy for Overall Premier Chapter for the fourth time in the last five years. Ohio Theta also had two individuals receive awards: Joe Blizzard '14, current student body president, was recognized as Greek Man of the Year, and Josh Keller '14 was awarded Greek Male Athlete of the Year. Actives Bring Home 13th Consecutive Buchanan Cup Riding the momentum of the strong performance of the chapter in the spring, James Acosta '15, Joe Blizzard '14, Robbie Falick '15, and I traveled to Dallas for the 53rd celebration of Grand Chapter Conclave. The week was filled with many great leadership and brotherhood events, all culminating with the winning our 13th consecutive Buchanan Cup, marking 26 straight years of excellence for Ohio Theta. Balanced Man Scholarship Banquet a Success We recently concluded our Balanced Man Scholarship process, hosting our annual Balanced Man Scholarship banquet at the university faculty club. Twelve scholarships were awarded to incoming freshmen and the actives were honored to have speeches delivered by Rod Gerardo '11 and Bill Mulvihill '70 at the dinner. Alumni George McIlveen '56, Lynn Barber '65, John Abraham '77, Scott Steger '93, and Renaissance brother Ric Sweeney were also in attendance. Recruitment in Full Swing During recruitment we signed a class of 36 outstanding gentlemen into the chapter to carry on the Ohio Theta legacy. We are experiencing a great school year.
