Lester T. Owen Jr. '49 entered Chapter
Eternal in 2012. He had many fond memories
of his years at SigEp and kept a memorabilia
clipping from the December 14, 1949,
Missouri Student, showing him and a dozen
other SigEps entertaining children at a
Noyes Hospital Christmas party.
Mark D. Panu '77 entered Chapter Eternal
after a seven‑year battle with cancer. His
services were attended by his brothers and
those of his son, Alex, who became an
active member in 2011.

Charles L. Brink Jr. '58 is happily retired and
enjoys spending time with his six grandchildren.
His favorite SigEp memories include singing
SigEp songs and getting serenaded while pinning
Dorothy Anne, his wife of 54 years and counting.

H. John Rowe '58 is leaving retirement to
purchase a metals company with two partners. He
is still very active with business consulting and

Thomas L. Hirsch '61 and his wife, Kay, reside in
Lake of the Ozarks and enjoy many water activities.

spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Episcopal Diocese of the Central Gulf Coast
to their companion Diocese of the Dominican
Republic. His favorite part of the fraternity was
growing in the brotherhood. He has always
been amazed at how many SigEps he runs into
throughout his travels and Air Force career.

John M. Morris '68 believes there are too
many wonderful memories to choose a favorite.
He most appreciates the chapter's lifelong
friendships. John lives in Englewood, Fla., with
his wife, Nancy.
Wayne E. Baldwin '73 is still coaching cross
country and track for Kirkwood High School
after retiring from teaching in 2010. He enjoys
volunteering for the World Bird Sanctuary.
Fred W. Reineke, M.D. '73 has enjoyed his
daughters' (Erika and Sophia) involvement
in sailing. Erika was runner-up for the 2012
Olympic team and now coaches in England for
the U.S. Virgin Islands and is preparing for the
2016 Olympic Games in Rio.
Robert T. Gunning Jr. '74 is an honorary
renaissance member. His best brother is his

Richard L. Gordon '78 plays trombone every
football Saturday. His favorite SigEp memories
include playing in the Mizzou band and his

H. Sloan Oliver '78 recently retired from the
U.S. Army. He served for more than 30 years
in a variety of positions, including infantry,
airborne, ranger, and military intelligence.
His last assignment was as a special weapons
instructor while flying on Air Force surveillance
aircraft. He plans to live in Georgia and invites
any brother passing through to give him a

Philip J. Schroeder '87 lives in Glencoe, Mo.,
with his wife, Stephanie. One if his favorite SigEp
memories is watching the 1985 NLCS clinching
game between the St. Louis Cardinals and the
Los Angeles Dodgers, when the Cardinals made

reporting job for WJLA‑TV in Washington, D.C.
His favorite SigEp memory is the annual trip
to Lake of the Ozarks, where there was always
