Sigma Success Continues on KU Campus Chapter Earns Best Show at Rock Chalk Revue S igma chapter is excited about our success last semester in academics, award achievements, and more. While partnered with the men of Sigma Chi, we won a total of seven awards for our performance in the 2013 Rock Chalk Revue, including Best Show. Academics Sigma chapter received a 3.35 GPA in the spring semester, which was higher than our fall average. This accomplishment has kept us ranked as the third-highest GPA within the Panhellenic community and fourth within the entire Greek community! We were excited about this improvement in our GPA, making this the highest average Sigma has achieved in years. Philanthropy This spring, we hosted our annual Crescent Classic Pancake Breakfast, which raised over $3,000. We donated part of the money to Camp Fire USA and are also excited to donate to our other philanthropic partner, Girls on the Run, for the first time. We also donated a portion of the funds to The One Fund (a nonprofit organization), which was created to assist those affected by the tragic events of the Boston Marathon. Membership Sigma is ecstatic to announce that we reached quota during 2013 fall formal recruitment, and of those women, 17 are legacies! "We realized our positive attitudes and hard work really paid off once we pledged our new members. I could not be more proud to be a part of Gamma Phi Beta and for our women to get the chance to become better friends with our amazing new members!" said Jamie Eschrich '11, membership vice president.
