O 20, 2010 FROM LETTERS ON PG. 4 LETTER TO EDITOR: I am in receipt of a letter titled Foster Bashing. I am compelled to respond to some of the accusations that are wrong. The author is guilty of perception management. The first statement of the letter indicates that it was written in direct rebuttal to statements that were made in the last publication of your paper. I read the entire paper and I challenge anyone to find anything in the issue of 10/6/2010 that shows Foster bashing. What I found was one of the most positive issues written, showing great pride in our town and the success of the Quartzsite Country Bash. The author also mentions that there is another side to the story but it will never make it to the paper. It never makes it to the paper because that side refuses to follow rules. This author was given the option to reduce her words to 300 or allow the editor to do so. She decided not to, attempting to further her position that this newspaper is one sided. Too bad, there was some information in the letter that addressed real issues. I also want to address the political energy here in town. Yes, there are some opposing issues and nasty rumors going around. The only advice that I can give is that everyone has the responsibility to investigate and seek out the truth. There may have been comments and issues that reflect negative energy when the Mayor first took office. Call it what you will, but one has to agree that this is not currently the energy of the town and we are moving forward, business is being taken care of. Let’s all get on that band wagon and quit living in the past, we can’t go back. Thank you, Michelle Lukkasson Citizen and Business Owner [from the Editor; the author of the referenced letter was given the opportunity to shorten or allow for editing. Author declined] .DM. Paul Winer performs in Blythe Oct. 23 There will be a special concert follow- ing the car show in Blythe on October 23 at Quechan Park.
