Secret Shoppers have been visiting all types of businesses throughout the county. While there were plenty of honorable mentions, just twelve are selected who go above and beyond. We celebrate them this week. North Main Automotive Repair, Red Bluff Consistency over the years. A key to excellent customer service is consistency. This is Jim Keaton’s second award – he received his first in 2004. Jim received a certificate of excellence and a gift certificate donated by Timbers Steakhouse at Rolling Hills Casino. Because of Jim Keaton’s consistency, the Secret Shopper is a loyal customer. “Jim has been my mechanic for years. He is a very kind man. Jim knew I was a single mom, and when I needed work done on my vehicle,e he would always let me make payments to him. He understands that times are difficult and does his part to help. When we were looking at cars for my son, I would call Jim and ask his opinion about the miles on the car, year, make, price, etc... He never seemed to mind, and he always took the time to talk to me. He told me that I could bring any car I was looking at to him, and he would check it out. He also said he would let me know if he heard of a good car for sale. Jim is an honest, good and caring man. I’ve never had a mechanic that I have trusted as much as I trust Jim.” Ron Pitts Window Cleaning We have never had such clean windows, and the quality of Ron’s work and customer service was exemplary. Window washing can be a monumental task, and this Secret Shopper found just the business to take on the challenge. “I selected this window cleaning service from the yellow pages, and he was able to fit us in within a week. Ron arrived around 8:30am, was very professional, had all of his equipment and went right to work. He worked all morning on the outside, removing and washing screens as well as the cleaning the wood trim around the windows. He took a 30 minute lunch break mid-day and worked all afternoon on the inside. In the house he set equipment on towels, so nothing would get on our flooring. He was meticulous, cleaning the slider tracks as well as all window tracks until they were immaculate. He was polite, professional, quiet and extremely hard working.” Ron Pitts, Owner Jim Keaton, Owner Ron received a certificate of excellence and a gift certificate donated by Tractor Supply Co. Shasta College/Tehama Campus Tom is a great ambassador for this beautiful new facility. Tom Orr is the Dean of the new Shasta College Tehama Campus, and his energy, enthusiasm and willingness to do even the small things have played a key role in the success interactions with the college. Tom received a certificate of excellence and a gift certificate donated from M&M Ranch House. According to the Secret Shopper, Tom is great at getting right back whenever there’s been a question or a problem. “I don’t think that he uses the word impossible, because he is always willing to tackle problems and find some sort of a solution. If he doesn’t know the answer, he is quick to point you towards someone who does, and he will also shoot that person an email as an introduction. I have been impressed by his dedication to the success of the college and to each individual student. Whether it means coming into work on a holiday to open up the facilities, personally cleaning up after an event and taking home the trash to insure that no bugs invade over the weekend, or sharing with students his own personal story —Tom always goes the extra mile.” Tom Orr, Dean
