It is run by the same family, they use the same great recipes and serve the same fantastic food that you get at the Zorba’s on Ra- eford Road — the one that has won Fayetteville’s best Greek Cuisine since the inception of the competition. The succulent gyros, crispy salads and hand-made confectionery treats, like baklava and chocolate brownies, along with all the other menu items, have been a favorite since the doors opened 30 some odd years ago, and one peek at the parking lot indicates that things won’t be changing anytime soon. Carrots’ food is fresh and nutritious which is fitting since it is located in a fitness center. It’s about as far as you can get from fast food. Everything is fresh, healthy and delicious. When you first look at the menu it may be a little intimidating, because it isn’t the typical restaurant. They have a wide variety of salads and soups, each made of the freshest and tasti- est ingredients, and as a bonus the portions are huge — it’s a full meal not just some grass covered in dressing. Well, with places like Baskin Robbins and Dairy Queen to turn to, getting a sweet and refreshing treat is not that hard to do in Fayetteville. Both places get high marks, but it is Cold Stone Creamery that our readers count on when they are craving ice cream. For the ultimate indulgence, Cold Stone offers not just ice cream and cakes, but every kind of confectionery accompaniment that you can think of that goes with ice cream and they will sprinkle, dollop, mix, shake and stir it together to come up with the exact treat you are looking for. They claimed Best Vegetarian eatery as well, and it is no surprise. The spices, the atmosphere, the flavor — singly they are all impressive. Together they are amazing. From Kim Chee to Bulgogi, there is sure to be something on the menu to sate your appetite. The buffet is remarkable and the menu diverse. For months now, the parking lot has remained full and the queue reaches outside the building on the weekends as eager diners line up for a delicious meal and the good times that await inside. Their outdoor dining space is a big hit, too. It is a great place to gather in the cool of the evening to rehash the day’s events. A family-friendly sports-themed restaurant, the Carolina Ale House has an extensive menu that includes everything from appetizers and burgers to entrees like blackened london broil and bourbon glazed Salmon.
