Veterans Services Opens New Office Cumberland County Veterans Services held a ribbon cutting and open house Aug. 9 to celebrate the opening of its new office in the former Board of Elections building. The new office at 301 E. Russell St. features 4,800 square feet of expanded office space, private offices for consultation, closer parking and improved accessibility for handicapped or disabled veterans. The office had been located in the basement of the Department of Social Services. "As our veterans population continues to grow, the Veterans Services Office will be able to grow with it," Veterans Services Director Sharon Sanders said. Thirty-two Cumberland County law enforcement officers and first responders graduated Crisis Intervention Training Aug. 2, bringing to 402 the number of CITcertified officers in the county. The training is designed to help officers respond to calls involving a Cumberland County Sheriff's deputies patient suffering a Ed McKoy and James McGrady assist mental health episode.
