The WISE OLD OWL E psilon Kappa enjoyed another excellent academic year filled with achievements across all areas of Chapter life. ACHIEVEMENTS The Chapter closed out the 2024-25 academic year with multiple honors at the Fraternity and Sorority Life Awards, including: Chapter of the Year (third-consecutive year), Outstanding Academic Programming, Outstanding Public Relations, Outstanding Chapter Advisor (Tyler Ricossa '11), Pistos Tigres (Seth Khokhar '25 and Raphael Jamias '25), and Chapter President of the Year (Ean Lindsey '27). At the Presidential Leadership Awards Ceremony in April, the Chapter received the Excellence in Service Award among all student organizations— recognizing the efforts of our Derby Days fundraising campaign for Special Olympics of Greater Memphis. Additionally, Seth Khokhar '25 was inducted into the Carson Circle, the university's highest honor for student leaders. ACADEMICS The Chapter GPA improved from 3.16 in fall 2024 to 3.30 in spring 2025. These successes reinforce our reputation as one of the top academic fraternities on campus. We are proud of the 25 brothers who earned a place on the dean's list, and the eight brothers who achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA—representing more than 20% of the Chapter! PHILANTHROPY Led by Dylan Keith '25 and the Derby Days committee, Epsilon Kappa raised more than $74,000 for Special Olympics of Greater Memphis—setting a new record for Greek fundraising in Memphis and surpassing our own previous record. Over the past four years, the Chapter has raised more than $215,000 for this cause. We extend our gratitude to our sorority partners, generous donors, corporate sponsors, and all who contributed to this success. CAMPUS INVOLVEMENT AND ATHLETICS Epsilon Kappa brothers continue to invest in the advancement of the University of Memphis and the city. • Seth Khokhar '25 serves as Student Trustee on the UofM Board of Trustees. • Michael "Big" Latimer '27 is a Frosh Camp counselor for the second-consecutive year. • Michael Latimer '27 and Jonas Kannady '26 also serve on the IFC Executive Board as Executive Vice President and Vice President of Recruitment, respectively. Athletically, the Chapter claimed Intramural Championships in basketball (spring) and flag football (fall, undefeated). The Chapter also earned first place in the UofM Homecoming competition and Phi Mu's Greeks Got Talent dance competition. LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT Leadership is at the heart of Epsilon Kappa. In July, Michael Latimer '27 (Consul) and Tucker Hurdle '28 (Magister) attended the Krach Transformational Leaders Workshop in Bowling Green, Ohio—joining Sigma Chi brothers from across North America. The Chapter was also honored with the J. Dwight Peterson Significant Chapter Blue Award, ranking seventh internationally among 230+ Sigma Chi chapters. This is Epsilon Kappa's 18th Peterson Award in the last 22 years, and the Chapter is now striving toward Gold Peterson status. Special thanks go to alumni facilitators Brett Collins '04, Trevor Beahm '08, Tyler Ricossa '11, and Sam Hedge '17 for sharing their time and wisdom with the next generation of leaders!
