3 SIGMA CHI S igma Chi holds an event called Grand Chapter every two years. Grand Chapter is the supreme legislative body of our fraternity, where members elect officers and vote on significant matters. It is also the occasion when brothers are honored as Order of Constantine inductees, recognized as Significant Sigs, and when the International Sweetheart is announced. This year, Grand Chapter was held June 25-28, 2025, in Aurora, Colorado. At this event, Epsilon Kappa had two brothers recognized as Significant Sigs: Chris Boysen '90 and Kirk Caraway '94. Chris and Kirk attended with their wives, joined by Epsilon Kappa brothers Paul Bell '93, Brian Sherman '96, and Brent Gillam '97, who traveled with their wives to support them. More than 400 people attended Grand Chapter this year, participating in a full slate of legislative sessions and social gatherings. Brothers came from across the United States and Canada, ranging in age from college students to octogenarians. Contrary to public perception, the vast majority of attendees were over the age of 40. Grand Chapter in Review Chris Boysen said it was the honor of a lifetime to be able to represent Epsilon Kappa at Grand Chapter. "Any success I've had in the nonprofit realm is due to my friend and brother Gordon Brigman '70 for helping illuminate the path for my life and revealing to me that fundraising for others is the most fulfilling role I could have ever hoped to play in my professional life," he shared. Kirk explained that his experience was especially meaningful because three brothers and their wives traveled more than 1,000 miles to support both Chris and him. He also expressed his excitement at receiving this honor alongside Chris, who had been Consul when Kirk was initiated in January 1990. For those who have not attended a Grand Chapter, it is truly worth experiencing. The next Grand Chapter will be held in the summer of 2027, with dates and location still to be announced.
