Mark Your Calendars for Xi's Homecoming O n May 19, 2025, a special meeting of the Xi of Psi Upsilon Fraternity was held via video conference to seek brotherhood approval for a structural change to the Xi's corporate organization. This change enables the Xi to fully benefit from its newly granted tax-exempt status from the IRS. Thanks to a strong turnout of undergraduate and alumni brothers, the brotherhood approved the transfer of legal title to two Xi-owned properties—242 High Street (the historic Chapter House) and 225 College Street (the adjacent parking lot)—to the Xi's 501(c)(3) charitable affiliate: The William Kerr Leadership and Historic Preservation Society Corporation ["The Kerr 501(c)(3)"]. To ensure uninterrupted use of the properties as a residential fraternity house, the Xi will enter into a long-term lease agreement with The Kerr 501(c)(3) that includes a nominal rent arrangement. Going forward, donations and other contributions to The Kerr 501(c)(3) can be used to support the Chapter House and, importantly, are expected to be fully tax- deductible for donors, subject to individual tax circumstances. In addition to approving the property transfer, the brotherhood unanimously voted to modernize the Xi's legal structure by updating its 19th-century governing documents.
