Page 3 T hough Noah Brinkmeyer '21 had no intention of joining a Fraternity, when Ben Schultz '19 and Cade Martin '19 from his a cappella group, Brocal Chords, convinced him to swing by the SigEp house, he was impressed by the members' talent and drive. They made him feel welcome, and "I realized that by just being in proximity to them, I'd become a better person." Throughout his time in SigEp, Noah's brothers would always push him to do better. Without the academic support of Mike VonWald '20, Noah is not sure he would have graduated. "[He] called me every day before a class we took together to quiz me. He studied with me after class and wouldn't leave me alone until I could lecture on the course content in my sleep. I got an A, and having taught a man to fish, so to speak, I continued to find myself on the dean's list or president's list after that." SigEp positively shaped Noah and gave him his closest friends. "I want to do my part to allow this organization to do the same for others," he said. Following graduation, he worked as a Northeast Regional Director and Volunteer Specialist for SigEp, which was introduced to him by the late Dr. Deb Bishop. "Hitting the road and living out of my car was the best job I never want to have again," he recalled. "There are hours of stories I can share from my time on the road, and this experience set me up to handle everything the professional world has thrown at me so far." After his time at Headquarters, Noah began volunteering with the new Rutgers Chapter. "I still volunteer with them today, as I enjoy the relationships I've made and seeing them become more successful each year." Now back in Iowa, he also serves as Iowa Delta's AVC secretary. "My goals in this role are to increase alumni engagement through consistent communication and outreach, improve record-keeping and process documentation for the AVC, and promote transparency and collaboration with Chapter members." Noah has enjoyed a successful year in his career. "I've had the opportunity to facilitate for teams from 12 different countries and worked with teams in pharmaceuticals, consumer health, and crop science," he shared. "At my site in Urbandale, I've opened and hired 30 roles for the company, managed 149 projects, and coached my team to have the most successful year our site has had in its around 10-year history." On June 14, Noah got engaged to his girlfriend of three and a half years, Rachel. "We are very excited for what the future has in store." When he's not volunteering with SigEp or working, you can find him gardening, cycling, doing CrossFit, running, restoring old tools or machines, and exploring new coffee shops on his travels. 2025 Ruck Leadership Institute BROTHERS IMPACT IOWA DELTA AFTER INSTITUTE AT TENDANCE S ince its inception, Ruck has empowered countless brothers to develop leadership skills, embrace personal growth, and foster meaningful connections. Serving SigEp Noah Brinkmeyer '21 on His Fraternity Experience and Involvement You can connect with Noah at noahbrinkmeyer@gmail.com. "In spring 2021, Alex Nixa '07 approached me and said he wanted to run a marathon before we graduated. I also had this dream but dismissed it due to the pandemic. With no races on the horizon, he convinced me we could make our own route and have SigEp brothers stop by for occasional wellness checks and encouragement. With zero training, we finished in five-and- a-half hours. This was extremely painful, but I found that with the right encouragement, a bit of planning, confidence, and Naivität, you'll surprise yourself with what you can do."
