n Saturday, May 3, the Alumni Association hosted a brunch
at the PIKE house to honor 13 members of the chapter who
graduated this spring and transitioned to alumni status. Over 40 people
were in attendance to celebrate this group of refounding fathers, who
were instrumental in getting Alpha Phi back at Iowa State.
Graduating seniors were presented with a Pi Kappa Alpha
challenge coin. Engraved with the Crest on one side and Preamble
on the other and made with garnet and gold enamel, these coins
are a reminder of the work and achievements of this group of new
alumni. A military tradition, challenge coins represent achievement
and affiliation—a fitting tribute to this new era of Pi Kappa Alpha
at Iowa State.
After brunch, the chapter facilitated the alumni ceremony from the
Ritual, and alumni present were able to share with the chapter why
Pi Kappa Alpha remains important in their lives.
