F armHouse Fraternity has been shaping the personal and professional development of young men at the University of Nebraska- Lincoln for more than a century. Our brotherhood wouldn't be in the strong position it is today without devoted alumni support, and we are once again calling upon our brothers to generously provide for the Nebraska Chapter's future. Support the Fraternity Experience Based on recent Greek life research, we know Fraternity membership promotes academic engagement and empowers students to be more involved community members. The Nebraska Chapter's new Honoring Our Past, Forging Our Future capital campaign is an excellent chance to honor our FarmHouse experiences so our youngest members can enjoy the benefits of Fraternity life. The campaign has a $2.75 million goal, divided between three funds: The Legacy Scholars Fund, the Inspiring Leadership Fund, and the 3601 Apple Fund. These support academic scholarships, leadership development initiatives, and long-term house maintenance and updates, respectively. Honor Your Fraternal Foundation FarmHouse membership provided a unique opportunity for each of us to grow through shared experiences and time-tested values. Many of us simply wouldn't be where we are today without the personal development and bonds provided by Nebraska FarmHouse, and your support for this campaign will demonstrate a lifelong loyalty to the brotherhood we all continue to cherish. Our brotherhood can work to promote academic excellence and chapter growth, strengthen the Nebraska Chapter's undergraduate leadership, and ensure our collegians continue to enjoy a great chapter house environment. Previous generations of alumni provided the foundation our chapter stands on today and that we enjoyed during our own undergraduate years at Nebraska; now it's up to us to honor that legacy while strengthening the Fraternity for years to come. Will You Join FarmHouse Again? We hope the answer is yes! Stay tuned for more information in the coming weeks on how you can join us, and we look forward to reaching the next level of the Fraternity experience together. Fraternally, Gregory A. Hansen (NE 88) Campaign Co-Chairman FARMHOUSE FRATERNITY Nebraska Chapter / University of Nebraska-Lincoln www.nebraskafarmhouse.org Spring 2025 T hough Mark Freese (NE 78) was unfamiliar with Greek life before attending UNL, he could sense the difference in FarmHouse as a premier Fraternity on campus. His formative years in the Nebraska Chapter set him up for a successful life beyond college, and he is grateful to pay it forward by supporting the Honoring Our Past, Forging Our Future capital campaign. Friendships for Life Mark was encouraged by Jerry Reimer (NE 77) and Jim Reimer (NE 77) to consider joining FarmHouse. He appreciated the upstanding young men he met at the house, and Mark quickly began making great memories with his new brothers. "The most important aspect of FarmHouse is the friendships for life," he said. "The times of laughter, support, and help through school made friends who have been present in my life to this day through weddings, children, tough times, deaths, and other life events." Personal and Professional Development Fraternity life compelled Mark to develop a strong work ethic and find a way to contribute to the brotherhood. He served as house treasurer and went on to join the Association Board of Directors for seven years. Mark encourages brothers to get involved by serving on the Association Board, the International Board of Directors, the Foundation, or helping with any projects that may arise. Mark has worked at Farm Credit Services of America for more than four decades as a lending officer. He credits FarmHouse for preparing him to step into the professional world.
