ALPHA CHAPTER OF THETA XI SUMMER 2025 ALPHABET A lpha Chapter continues to rebuild and strengthen after COVID with a stable active chapter and another successful 6294 weekend this April. Aside from our usual activities, I'd like to highlight the work done by outgoing President David Fowkes '89 (A1275) to get approval from RPI for alcohol to be served during scheduled events at the house. This was the first approval granted to any fraternity alumni event since alcohol was banned from Greek housing by RPI during COVID and will be a model for future events. ALUMNI LEADERSHIP With elections now finished, Dave is taking a well-deserved break from the alumni board. In addition, Vice President Adrian Pangilinan '17 (A1692) and at-large members Andrew DeMarco '18 (A1702), Anand Gandhi '21 (A1745), and Kyle Heintz '21 (A1729) left the board. Newly elected members are Vice President Bobby Fohrenbach '15 (A1662) and at-large members Pete Abren '00 (A1459), Jon Matla '15 (A1659), Brendan Capuzzo '24 (A1784), and Luc Trombley '24 (A1782). Freddie Hole '18 (A1700) will stay on as treasurer, and I have been elected president. I thank all the past board members for their work to get us to where we are today. CHAPTER GOALS Our Alumni Association continues to be productive in our goals of supporting the undergraduates, strengthening our brotherhood, and improving the house. Over the years, alumni have organized periodic career panels to support our collegians, connecting them with alumni to provide insight and advice as they prepare for future careers. This program has continued to grow, and any alumni who would like to participate should reach out to me to connect with the panel organizers. Looking to the bonds of brotherhood, the A1593 Dr. Chuck Boylen Memorial "My Brother's Keeper" fund has now launched and is open for donations. Named in memory of our longtime faculty advisor and brother who passed away this past February, this fund demonstrates our commitment to one another and will provide support to the children of brothers we lost. Finally, the housing renovation has continued with ongoing work to update the outdated electrical systems in progress, planned for completion this summer. The board will continue to focus on these areas with an emphasis on building upon recent progress. Our success as the Alumni Association is dependent on the actions of our members, and I'd encourage everyone to think about what they can do to strengthen our brotherhood. We all have different gifts to offer—whether it's providing career advice to undergraduates, planning an event, or providing monetary support. The board and I would like to encourage everyone to support these goals with their talents and gifts so that the Alumni Association and active chapter continue to develop and sustain the men of Theta Xi.
