INSIDE: Leading a Legacy | Graduates! • 2 Officers | New Members • 3 ALPHA TAU OMEGA • UNIVERSITY OF NEBRASKA-LINCOLN • SPRING 2025 S ince taking office in January, the executive board has been working diligently toward earning a third-consecutive True Merit award at ATO Congress this August. To make this vision a reality, we're focusing on expanding our philanthropic efforts, striving for higher academic achievement, and hosting events that showcase our uncommon brotherhood. MAKING A DIFFERENCE In April, we proudly held what we plan to make a recurring, weeklong philanthropy event in support of I've Got a Name, a local nonprofit dedicated to ending sex trafficking in Nebraska. The event, called Taus Against Trafficking, featured a series of raffles for prizes, including Jason Aldean concert tickets and Husker football tickets. While the final total is still being confirmed as of this writing, we expect to raise around $10,000. We're incredibly proud of this outcome and grateful for the hard work the chapter put in throughout the semester and for the generous support from many of you. We're excited to build this event into a long-standing chapter tradition. HITTING THE BOOKS Our chapter has also continued its academic rise. In January, we learned that we achieved the largest year-over- year increase in all-house GPA within the IFC from fall 2023 to fall 2024! Our current GPA is just shy of 3.4, placing us sixth overall. We're pushing to break into the top five and consistently maintain an average above 3.4. BUILDING BROTHERHOOD This semester has been full of meaningful and memorable events. We hosted three semiformal gatherings: a Valentine's Day celebration in February, a St. Patrick's Day event in March, and a rave-themed semiformal in early May to close out the semester. A highlight was our weekend trip to Chicago, which included a Cubs game and a formal on April 26. Beyond socials, we prioritized brotherhood through activities like paintballing, movie nights, attending a Lincoln Stars hockey game, and our annual ATΩ Olympics. We also hosted a Mom's Day, Dad's Day, and Parents Day, each offering special opportunities to thank the families who support us. It has been a great privilege to serve as chapter president these past four months. I'm excited to continue building on the momentum our executive board has created and to carry that progress into the fall semester. Together, we will keep honoring the values ATΩ instills in us and provide a strong foundation for the next generation of young men we welcome into our brotherhood. Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to seeing you at the alumni tailgate this fall! Love and Respect, Kyler Evans '23 Chapter President P r e s s i n g O n Gamma Theta brothers welcomes their mothers to a Mom's Day brunch at Embassy Suites in downtown Lincoln. SPRING SEMESTER RECAP Brothers participate in a sex trafficking awareness walk from the Student Union to the state capital building. The event was hosted by I've Got a Name, an organization we were pleased to support during our inaugural philanthropy week.
