O n Saturday, March 29, Lambda Chapter hosted a scholarship event at the house for incoming freshmen and transfer students as well as the distribution of Leadership and Memorial Scholarships totaling $50,400. Promoting Fraternity Engagement The morning portion was aimed at potential new members to stimulate interest in AGR as they transition to a four-year university this fall. Five prospective members and their families enjoyed breakfast with brothers while receiving house tours and taking part in an interview to receive a Leadership Scholarship in the next academic year. Along with the in-person attendees, virtual interviews were conducted for other scholarship applicants in the following weeks. The prospective members joined the undergraduate chapter and Alumni Corporation members for lunch and were invited to stay after lunch to watch scholarship distributions. Recognizing Our Brothers The collegiate scholarship portion started with the distribution of Leadership Scholarships for the current new members who applied for the scholarship previously. Nine scholarships were distributed to seven members and two non-members, totaling $9,000. Three endowed Leadership Award Scholarships, at a total of $7,700, were presented to collegiate chapter members. These endowments were made by Stuart Immer #771 and Craig Fields #1055. Leadership Award recipient Brady Gille #1862 said: "Being awarded a scholarship from Alpha Gamma Rho's Educational Foundation is an incredible honor; it reflects the trust our brotherhood places in us as future leaders and reinforces the value of hard work, academic dedication, and a lifelong commitment to agriculture and Alpha Gamma Rho." There were also Memorial Scholarships, totaling $24,000, presented in honor and memory of three former chapter members: Bruce Froyum #1283, Nick Lilleberg #1446, and Karson Kent Janssen #1841. Payouts are determined by individual GPA and completed credits hours. The total payout of fall 2024 Academic Scholarships was $9,700.
