THE BAZOO Delta Upsilon at Syracuse University • Spring 2025 SU BRAND COLORS (RGB) A Permanent Home for a Lifetime Brotherhood SYRACUSE CHAPTER ANNOUNCES $1.25 MILLION CAPITAL CAMPAIGN A s an undergraduate, where was the center of your DU experience? Was it 426 Ostrom Ave., 744 Comstock Ave., 711 Comstock Ave., or more recently, 801 Walnut Ave. or 721 Comstock Ave.? All of those addresses were DU Chapter Houses over the past 150 years – the physical structures where thousands of friendships were forged, great memories created, and valuable life and leadership skills learned. Today on campus, however, the DU chapter house is only a temporary arrangement. We're renting the SigEp house at 721 Comstock, with a lease that will expire just two years from now. At that point, we must be in a position to solidify DU's presence on campus. Renting is a risk, and we surrender control of our chapter's presence on campus if we don't act now to raise the capital to purchase a permanent home for generations of undergraduate brothers to come. To achieve house ownership and have a place to call our own at SU, we're proud to announce the Pledge DU … Again! capital campaign. Your financial pledge to this campaign will allow us to buy when the right house comes on the market, and secure supplemental financing from a bank, if necessary. To fuel the Pledge DU … Again! campaign with the necessary momentum, we've already secured financial pledges of $814,000 from early supporters (whose names appear on page 2) toward our $1.25 million goal. Their dedication to the future of our fraternity has given us a great start, and we believe that when all DUSU alumni come together, we can achieve anything. In the coming weeks, you'll receive additional information on this exciting project, the campaign, and ways in which you can join our growing list of loyal alumni donors. Here's to taking the steps now to secure the next 150 years of Delta Upsilon at Syracuse University! Fraternally, Rick Holland '83 Campaign Chairman 426 Ostrom Ave. 744 Comstock Ave. 711 Comstock Ave. 801 Walnut Ave. I consider my support for this campaign as a way to give something back to DU, in recognition of all that the fraternity has given to me. But I also think of it as an investment in the outstanding young men in DU at SU today – our chapter continues to earn its place as one of the top fraternities on campus, as well as among all DU chapters throughout North America. P.S. PLEDGE DU ... AGAIN!
