Developing Leaders for the Future and Sisters for Life! Spring 2025 From Your Delta Sigma House Board at Oklahoma State W ith the school year coming to a close last week, I wanted to share some insights with you, as well as some of the fun things the chapter has been up to since our last newsletter. I can say with the utmost confidence that you can be proud of the young women in the chapter who are upholding the ideals of our beloved Kappa, as they keep our chapter strong within the competitive Greek community on campus. Our chapter is growing each year, and I am so proud of the caliber of women we are pledging. In addition to the 58 women we pledged last fall, we added 12 new members via Continuous Open Bidding (COB) earlier this spring, bringing our total of new members up to 70. COB takes place when students return to campus after Winter Break. It is a less formal style of recruitment, allowing the sororities to pledge a designated number of new members based on chapter totals/membership size. With our current chapter total standing at 212, it's becoming quite a challenge to accommodate everyone and all of the various activities that go on throughout the year like Bid Day, Dad's Day, Mom's Day, and even Formal Dinner. With our Kappa House only housing 86 members and with so many members wanting to live in next year, we had to hold a lottery to choose members to live out. The OSU sorority landscape is changing quickly and dramatically; Tri Delta's new house construction may begin as soon as next year and Zeta Tau Alpha's new home is coming along nicely. Theta is also planning to raze and rebuild their house sometime in the near future. The new Pi Phi house is officially open, and they had a beautiful ribbon cutting celebration last month. Our House Board continues to work on architectural plans for a major renovation, and we can't wait to share the details with you when they are ready! What an incredible honor it was to host Kappa Kappa Gamma's National Fraternity President, Elizabeth Bailey, Delta Rho '79, in November. Her visit was a truly unforgettable experience, as she shared her inspiring vision for the Fraternity while building meaningful connections with our members. The visit included a private tour of the OSU campus, a stop for lunch at Eskimo Joe's, where she enjoyed their infamous cheese fries, and meetings with both our leadership and executive boards as well as the entire chapter. We closed out the evening with a wonderful dinner at the house. During her "State of the Kappa Union Address," she outlined her goals for her presidency, focusing on modernizing chapter systems and strengthening alumnae relations. Special thanks to Linda Price Patton '61, Sharon Pickrell Gober '70, Melinda Patton Bellatti '85, Emily Marazas '22, and Liv Kopang '22 for helping me plan this visit. In April, we had three reasons to celebrate! First, we honored our 32 graduating seniors with the annual Senior Salad Supper, hosted by the Stillwater Alumnae Club. They join the 10 who graduated in December in becoming alumni. (Continued on page 2) Congrats to our spring scholarship recipients! Congrats to our spring scholarship recipients! Dear Kappas… HAPPY SPRING from 1212 W. 4th!
