BETA CHI NEWSLETTER 2 Fashion, Friendship, and Finding Myself Meet Beta Chi Senior Kylie Colony '21 "I'm proud to be able to call myself an alumna in May! I know it's something I'll cherish for a lifetime." F rom the moment I arrived during Open House, I knew I had found my place at Kappa Kappa Gamma. The warmth and kindness of the women I met made me feel at home, and I admired their confidence and authenticity. As recruitment progressed, my admiration only deepened. By Bid Day, I was beyond excited to run home to a sisterhood that already felt like family. Being part of Beta Chi has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my college years. Our diverse members bring unique backgrounds and strengths, yet we are all united by the same values. No matter the situation, I know my sisters will always be there for me, just as I am for them. Our chapter house has been the setting for many incredible memories. Whether it's the excitement of spirit week and recruitment, late-night study sessions, or simply spending hours talking with friends, the house is more than a placeāit's a home filled with love and belonging. When I started college, I wasn't sure what I wanted to do. That changed when I took an Intro to Marketing class. I was drawn to the blend of creativity and strategy, especially in social media and digital marketing. My passion for fashion led me to add a second major in fashion merchandising, apparel, and textiles. My Kappa sisters encouraged me to pursue this path, and I am so grateful for their support. I will graduate in May 2025 and then plan to move to Nashville to earn a master's in marketing from Vanderbilt University. A defining experience for me as a student was my internship as a social media marketing intern for LoveShackFancy in Manhattan. Every day was filled with inspiration, creativity, and invaluable learning experiences. I gained firsthand insight into fashion marketing, from content creation and influencer outreach to campaign strategy and analytics. Another career highlight was being invited back as a remote intern for the fall semester, allowing me to continue developing my skills. The most unforgettable moment was attending LoveShackFancy's New York Fashion Week show in September, where I helped with content creation. Being behind the scenes of such a major event was truly a dream come true. Before Kappa, I was still searching for my place and my path. This sisterhood gave me the confidence and support to grow into the person I am today. Surrounded by strong, driven, and kind women, I have learned to chase my dreams, step outside my comfort zone, and believe in myself. I know that no matter where life takes me, I will always have my sisters by my side. My family means everything to me. My younger brother, Cole, is a sophomore at Auburn, and my older sister, Taylor, is serving in the Peace Corps in Africa. In my free time, I love spending time with friends and family, weightlifting, and exploring new restaurants!
