E
ta Chapter has had a great spring semester. We
enjoyed several events, including swaps with Kappa
Delta, Delta Delta Delta, and Kappa Kappa Gamma,
an exciting formal in Nashville, and many bands and
activities at 121 S. Poole Drive.
NEW MEMBERSHIP
This spring, we are excited to welcome Lewis Ward '27
to Eta Chapter. Lewis was voted into the chapter this
fall and has had a warm welcome from everyone. As a
legacy, his father Steven '94 was Eta Chapter's consul in
1993-94.
MEMBER SPOTLIGHT
Our chapter would like to thank and recognize
Peter Downing '27. Peter is the chapter's kustos and
the bassist of the Board of Directors, a band that has
played at many events on fraternity row and venues
around Oxford. Many brothers have enjoyed seeing
Peter and the band play at various venues in Oxford.
PARENTS' WEEKEND
Our Parents' Weekend was a fantastic time. We all
gathered on April 11-12 and enjoyed food, music, and
loved ones at Harrison's and The Yard before the Ole
Miss vs. Tennessee baseball game. We also enjoyed
the next day at Circle and Square for refreshments and
music before the second baseball game.
DERBY DAYS
Chairmen JT Pickering '27 and Abe Solomon '27
worked hard early in the semester to prepare a fun Derby
Days week for the chapter. Our members enjoyed selling
roses, getting pied, and hosting a powder puff game on
the intramural fields. Eta Chapter raised $4,000 for the
Huntsman Cancer Research Center, who will utilize our
donation to fund further research on ways to fight cancer.
RECRUITMENT
It is about time to prepare for welcoming young men
into the new member class of 2026. Aiden Byrd '27
and his team of recruitment chairmen are heavy at work
meeting and inviting incoming first-year students to tour
the chapter and see what Eta Chapter offers. If you know
a young man heading to Ole Miss, check the back page
for information on submitting a recruitment referral.
