Will reflects on his college years with great pride as he considers Sigma Chi's influence on his development and lifelong social connections. Eta Memories When he joined the brotherhood, Sigma Chi stood out to Will as a remarkable group of upstanding young men. He thought highly of the upperclassmen and made great memories around the chapter house, hanging out on the back patio, and enjoying shared meals three times a day. "It was mainly the character of the guys, and particularly, we had an amazing pledge trainer who was a Christian man. He was very much a mentor in my life, and I think he kind of looked at it as his mission to invest in us." Will became Eta Chapter's annotator during senior year, and he appreciated the chance to contribute on the executive board. His role as a greeter and house tour guide for an alumni fundraising event also allowed him to network with Eta alumni and meet many prominent Houston-based business professionals. Business Ventures After college, Will utilized his newfound Sigma Chi connections to enter the real estate industry in Houston, Texas. He began working in a sales position under Blake Tartt III '84, who tasked Will with leasing a shopping center. "That was kind of a sink-or-swim, cut your teeth on real estate type of job." Following 15 years in real estate, Will and his roommates began developing a speaker that would stand up to rugged outdoor conditions as a side project. That project grew into Turtlebox Audio, which launched on Indiegogo in July 2018. "We built and sold 50 in 2013, and after that, we realized there's a real business here," he said. After four tough years of development, the company had its launch party in the restaurant of the hospital where Will's daughter was born that same day. "It was a big learning curve for all of us but very rewarding to see something in the marketplace that started in your garage." Turtlebox Audio's four founders began working full-time for the company in 2020, and the brand has now grown to 70 employees and products in more than 2,000 stores. Will's mentality for growth stems from his commitment to learning more about his own strengths and weaknesses. Personal Life Sigma Chi remains an important part of Will's social life. While brothers having children makes it harder to maintain the tradition of getting together for a football game each year, he is still grateful to see them whenever possible while staying connected through social media. When he's not busy with work, Will enjoys getting out on the water to fish or spend time with family. You can connect with him on Instagram at @willdbradley. "Learning does not end at college. When you graduate, commit to being a lifelong learner."
