Brothers hosting a
registry drive with NMDP.
L
ast month, our chapter hosted a
registry drive with National Marrow
Donor Program (NMDP) and set a new
on-campus record for the most registries
in one day. We recruited over 120 people
in less than four hours! This event was
a great demonstration of our chapter's
dedication to philanthropy and service,
as we had 50-plus members volunteer.
In April, we hosted our "Spring Classic"
hockey game between the fraternities
at the Illini Ice Arena. All funds were
donated to the Huntsman Cancer
Foundation. Last year, we raised $1,000,
and this year we raised $1,450.
Following the hockey event, we hosted
a two-day Paddy Murphy event, which
consisted of sororities decorating
caskets on Friday and a competition
on Saturday where we voted for our
favorite design. The teams were
charged a registration fee to compete,
and the winner received 50% of the
funds toward their philanthropy. The
other 50% went to our philanthropy the
National Children's Cancer Society.

M
om's Weekend went exceptionally well
this year! The house was decorated in
purple and gold with Mom's Weekend flags
and balloons.
We hosted brunch prepared by chef
Gabe and had an abundance of leftovers.
The chocolate fountain was a hit! In the
evening, we held a bonfire in the courtyard
with Gamma Phi sorority.
The moms had nothing but good things to
say, and compared to last year, we blew it
out of the water. Overall, the weekend was
very successful and a good representation
of what we stand for at Illinois Beta. We are
looking forward to the next Mom's Weekend.
Our Best Mom's Weekend Yet!
