T his year, Iowa Alpha Brothers poured their hearts and energy into Dance Marathon, making a tangible difference in the lives of families battling pediatric cancer. Our journey began months before the big event, with a team of more than 50 Brothers committing to the cause. Monthly meetings served as the foundation of our efforts. We weren't just fundraising; we were building a community. These gatherings provided insights into the impact of pediatric cancer, fostering a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by affected families. Most importantly, hearing directly from a family speaker each month fueled our passion and solidified our commitment. This consistent motivation translated into remarkable results. By the time the 24-hour event arrived, Phi Psi had shattered expectations, raising $28,637—the highest total among all Greek organizations! The big event itself was a transformative experience. For 24 hours, we stood in solidarity with these incredible families. The event was a whirlwind of emotions, punctuated by hourly family stories that brought both tears and inspiration. In between, we found joy and connection through karaoke with the kids, participated in head-shaving ceremonies, and danced tirelessly to keep the energy alive. The spirit of unity and support permeated every moment. The true impact of our fundraising goes beyond the numbers. The funds we raised will directly support the Iowa Children's Hospital, providing vital resources and care for children and their families during their most challenging times. Knowing our efforts will alleviate some of the burdens faced by these families is incredibly rewarding. Phi Psi Brothers are proud to have contributed to this remarkable cause, and we are grateful for the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children and their families in our community. We look forward to continuing our dedication to Dance Marathon in the years to come.
