Page 2 READY TO LEAD Oklahoma Alpha Officers Attend 2025 Carlson Leadership Academy This January, several of our chapter officers traveled to Oklahoma City, joining more than 1,800 SigEp undergraduates, volunteers, and alumni nationwide. Each officer gained hands-on training, leadership skills, and strategies to strengthen our chapter's operations, efficiency, and brotherhood. "It was a fantastic experience," Sawyer Moss '28 shared. "I got to learn helpful marketing and design skills for my communications role while getting to know SigEps from other chapters whom I still talk to today. I loved my time at Carlson and enjoyed growing closer with the executive team." Oklahoma Alpha also received the AVC Operational Excellence Award, which recognizes outstanding service by an AVC in leading a chapter to success in the areas of recruitment, member development, and fiscal health. T he past few months have been both dynamic and rewarding for Sigma Phi Epsilon. From impactful philanthropic efforts and strong academic performance to meaningful alumni engagement and brotherhood-building activities, our chapter continues to thrive. We have prioritized growth—both personal and professional—and it is evident in every aspect of chapter life. u Academic Excellence and Mentorship Our chapter maintains one of the highest GPAs among fraternities and students on campus. To further support academic success, we recently purchased new TVs for the second-floor study room and basement, enhancing our ability to host workshops. Additionally, the implementation of new academic mentors has been instrumental in assisting our underclassmen with their transition into college, giving them a strong head start. u Philanthropy in Action April 2024 marked the 44th year of Safari Week, during which we raised nearly $5,500 for Big Brothers Big Sisters. Our volleyball tournament saw 40 teams compete over two days to crown a champion for this worthy cause. To conclude the week, Ty Myers performed a private concert exclusively for the brothers of Sigma Phi Epsilon. It was a fantastic week filled with activities and events that enabled us to make a meaningful contribution to an even greater cause. Furthermore, we partnered with Gamma Phi Beta to host the impactful Friends Don't Let Friends Drink and Drive event. u Recruitment and Leadership Fall recruitment welcomed 49 members into SigEp, and they have hit the ground running. Many are actively involved in organizations both within and outside of Sigma Phi Epsilon. For example, Sawyer Moss '28 represents the IFC as a senator in the Student Government Association, while Everette Walley '28 serves as a representative for SigEp in both Junior Greek Leadership and the Spears School of Business Student Council. u Homecoming 2024 We were honored to collaborate with the wonderful women of Gamma Phi Beta to present "Innovative Visions … Timeless Traditions." Everyone's dedication and hard work resulted in an incredible showcase. Our Homecoming dec celebrated the rich heritage of our alumni while paving the way for OSU's future legacy. u A Powerful Message Additionally, we partnered with the women of Alpha Delta Pi to host "Love, Mom and Dad: Turning Tragedy into Progress." This deeply moving event featured Evelynn Piazza and Rae Ann Gruver, two mothers who lost their sons to fraternity hazing. Over 500 students attended, experiencing an evening filled with raw emotion and profound awareness. It was a truly eye-opening event for brothers and peers alike, and we were proud to facilitate such a powerful and important discussion. u Looking Ahead Overall, this year has been nothing short of great. Our brothers have not only enjoyed themselves but have also stepped up as leaders and contributors to the community we call home. Oklahoma Alpha is proud to be an integral part of the Stillwater community, and we remain committed to making a lasting impact for years to come!
