A s I step into this position, I have embraced its challenges and opportunities with enthusiasm. This semester began with a significant transition as our chapter adopted its new billing service, Greekbill, which has streamlined our financial operations. I took the lead in onboarding our chapter to this platform, ensuring all members were registered and familiar with its features. Through hands-on learning, I've become adept at navigating the system, which has already proven invaluable for managing dues and other financial responsibilities. I want to recognize the work of our last VNR Finance, Salvatore Petrelli '23 (Γ1953). Under his leadership, our chapter achieved financial stability, laying a strong foundation for future success. It is my goal to maintain this stability while building upon it to ensure long-term financial health. One of my primary focuses this term is advancing a culture where financial responsibility is embraced by us all. By emphasizing the importance of timely payments and transparent communication, we aim to ensure that obligations such as rent, meal plans, and bills are managed efficiently. This proactive approach will help us plan effectively for both expected and unexpected expenses. Additionally, I am committed to enhancing financial literacy within our brotherhood. One of my goals for my term is to organize a financial literacy presentation. This event will provide brothers with practical knowledge on personal budgeting, managing debt, and planning for future expenses. By equipping members with these skills, we can not only strengthen individual financial habits but also contribute to the overall fiscal responsibility of our chapter. With the help of our whole brotherhood, I am confident that we can achieve both short-term success and long-term sustainability. T his semester, my goals were to strengthen relationships, increase philanthropy involvement, and host more registered events. The whole brotherhood has been active in gathering at the chapter house, especially when watching sports or playing poker. (We recently obtained a new poker table, which has been a big hit.) I've also set up our projector in the Great Hall during big sporting events like the Super Bowl and March Madness. We have greatly improved our philanthropy by reinventing the philanthropy committee and planning future events for different causes. This year, we had many events surrounding THON with our partners in Phi Sigma Sigma to raise money for childhood cancer. Some of these events included barbecues, hot dog eating contests, pie-throwing contests, and more. This semester, we have also dominated many intramural sports, including basketball and hockey. Our hockey team is currently 10-1-1 and is still showing much promise. In the future months, I'd like to increase philanthropy and brotherhood involvement even more. I hope to have a few registered events each semester, including brotherhood events and socials with other Greek life. Overall, this role has shown me how great our brotherhood truly is when we come together. I hope to make a big impact on this chapter and on all the brothers' lives.
