Supporting and Enhancing Our Home
I want to take a moment to update you on some important improvements happening at
the chapter house:
• This summer, we'll be addressing
flooring structural issues in targeted
areas on the second and third floors.
Over time, regular use has caused
some sections to bow, and we'll be
removing portions of the flooring and
ceiling to reinforce these specific areas
and ensure long-term stability.
• At the same time, we're planning to
replace the house's original cast iron
plumbing. This system has served us
for decades, but it's time for a full
upgrade to prevent future issues and
maintain the home's integrity.
Looking ahead, we also have a few additional projects we'd love to tackle—depending
on available funding:
• One of the most urgent is improving the
livability of the house director's room.
Due to the age of the home, noise from
foot traffic above carries easily into this
space. Adding soundproofing would
go a long way to make this room more
comfortable and quieter.
• We also hope to update the Legacy
Room in the basement, transforming
it into a functional and inviting
gathering space where brothers can
relax, watch a game, and build lasting
memories together.
These necessary and aspirational upgrades come with a significant financial
commitment, and alumni support will be essential to bringing them to life. More
details about the projects and how you can contribute will be shared in a separate
communication coming soon.
