Updates from Florida Epsilon
W
hile the 2024 Florida State football season did not go as
planned, it certainly did not stop Florida Epsilon brothers from
coming together to celebrate 123 years of Sigma Phi Epsilon this
Founder's Day! On the eve of the FSU vs. UNC football game, more
than 30 brothers and their spouses from various decades gathered
at 740 W. Lafayette Street to enjoy each other's company and show
support for the Fraternity. The night was filled with plenty of food,
drinks, and laughs. Many old memories were shared throughout the
night and new ones were created.
As the night drew to a close, current
AVC President Rob Atkisson '93
addressed the group and thanked
everyone for making it a night to
remember. In the spirit of Founder's
Day, brothers were encouraged to make
a donation toward the undergraduate
Chapter's Balanced Man Scholarship
fund at sigep.org/floridaepsilon before
capping off the night with a rendition
of the SigEp Toast.
While the night's activities were over,
the fun of the weekend was just getting
started. Many alumni returned to the Chapter House the next day for
the AVC-sponsored tailgate, a fan favorite of alumni, undergraduates,
and guests alike. While the Seminoles ultimately dropped the game
against the Tarheels Saturday afternoon, brothers once again got to
catch up on lost time with each other. Overall, the weekend was an
astounding success, and the Florida Epsilon AVC and undergraduate
Chapter look forward to hosting another event next football season!
