Our Chapter House will remain ready for SigEp's return to campus. UNIVERSITY OF COLORADO SPRING 2025 Updates from Colorado Alpha Y ou may be wondering about the Chapter House at 1005 Broadway. Yes, SigEp at Colorado AVC still owns it and is keeping it ready for when the new Chapter is prepared to reoccupy it! We have made substantial payments to the mortgage and plan to continue that. It will soon be time to replace the second- and third-floor windows, which is a major undertaking. When the Chapter is ready, the house will be too. At the earliest, that would be fall 2027. You might also ask how the AVC team has managed to pay the mortgage and maintain the house. We have been leasing it out to other Greek organizations. First, we hosted the Phi Mu sorority, and now it is the temporary home for Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity, who is starting the second year of a three-year residence in fall 2025. We know some of you may wince at seeing another organization in our facility, but that is exactly why it still is OUR facility. It will be ready for our new brothers when they arrive. Undergraduate Leadership Roles SIGEP TODAY SIGEP TODAY W e have a wide range of eras representing SigEp's 10th-oldest Chapter, so some may be wondering how a SigEp Chapter operates in 2025. Here are the roles and duties of those who lead the on-campus SigEp Chapters of today and what their focus will be for SigEp at Colorado as we plan our return. The vice president of recruitment leads the effort to recruit new members, and we're open to recruiting outside of formal recruitment. He will be crucial as we establish the Chapter. One of his key committee members will run next year's Balanced Man Scholarship program. Without brothers, we have no Chapter. Three vice presidents (programming, learning community, and member development) work together to plan events that are fun (e.g., social events, mixers, and Sound Body events) and enrich the brothers' personal and professional development (e.g., training on personal finances, time management, etc.). The non-hazing member development program focuses on setting and achieving personal goals. A joint goal of these three vice presidents is providing the value we promise in recruitment, which leads to better retention. None of that would be possible without money, so the vice president of finance budgets, collects dues, pays bills, and reports to the executive committee, AVC, and IRS on financial matters. The vice president of communications manages the Chapter's brand and presence on social media while taking minutes at executive committee and Chapter meetings. He is our marketing guru. The chaplain manages the Ritual and standards board. The "Ritual" now happens a week or two after joining, and there are public ceremonies for other milestones and public ceremonies such as Burning Heart and Hoop of Steel. The standards board recognizes positive achievements of brothers and, if needed, serves as the judicial branch for maintaining the Chapter's standards. The chaplain and his team ensure the Chapter lives up to our cardinal principles of Virtue, Diligence, and Brotherly Love. And, of course, the president manages the entire Chapter, leading weekly executive committee and Chapter meetings while making sure the Fraternity experience is fun and safe. The Chapter and our mentors will have major support from SigEp Headquarters staff as we build the Chapter this fall. Update on 1005 Broadway
