DELTA PSI NEWS 2 Philanthropic Efforts Last fall, we teamed up with Texas Tech FIJI for Kappa Kookout, and together, we made a monumental impact on UMC Children's Hospital—raising over $6,800 for Tech Miracle Pennies! Our commitment to giving back never stops. This semester, we've continued to spread love and support to the communities that mean so much to us. For Valentine's Day, our members wrote heartfelt notes to patients at two local nursing homes in Lubbock, ensuring that everyone felt special and appreciated on this meaningful day. Beyond that, we've been out and about in Lubbock, hosting givebacks at some of our favorite local spots, including Keva Smoothies, Vitality Bowls, Blue Sky, Menchie's, and more—all in the name of philanthropy. And we're not slowing down! We are thrilled to announce our upcoming Kappa Klassic Golf Tournament on April 26, 2025! This incredible event will support The Jed Foundation and Children's Miracle Network, two causes that are deeply important to us. If you would like to donate, please visit kkg.crowdchange.co/45731. Campus Involvement Last fall, our Homecoming season was nothing short of extraordinary! We are beyond proud to celebrate our past president, Mckeely Underwood '21, who was crowned Homecoming Queen. From the moment the week began, our chapter was filled with excitement, pride, and sisterhood as we rallied behind her. We kicked off the celebrations with our annual S.O. Sing competition, where Mckeely was named a top 10 finalist. From there, she took part in interviews, the pep rally, the Homecoming parade, and the legendary bonfire—all leading up to the unforgettable moment when she was crowned! To wrap up the semester, we ended fall 2024 on a high note with our annual House of Blues semi-formal alongside Tri Delta, creating lasting memories with our Panhellenic community. This spring, after receiving multiple award nominations, we are thrilled to be attending the FSL Awards. We can't wait to celebrate all the incredible accomplishments of our chapter and the Greek community. Academic Excellence This fall, our chapter ranked third in grades among all Panhellenic sororities. We are proud of our 72 sisters who made the dean's list and 55 who earned a spot on the president's list. To unwind during finals, we enjoyed our annual "Dead Day" Breakfast at the lodge, a fun tradition that gives our sisters a chance to relax, recharge, and enjoy time together before the break. We are excited to keep pushing for even greater academic success this semester. Kappas are scholars, leaders, and achievers—always striving for more! Sisterhood That Lasts a Lifetime Amidst the whirlwind of chapters, midterms, breaks, and assignments, one thing remains constant—our unbreakable sisterhood. No matter how busy life gets, Kappa is always a place where our members find support, laughter, and lifelong friendships. This year, we've shared so many unforgettable moments, from our Mom's Weekend Brunch to cozy Bachelor watch nights at the lodge and even Yoga on the Lawn for a little relaxation and fun. With so many more exciting events on the horizon, the memories are just getting started. Loyally, Hannah Helmke '22 Chapter President Celebrating Homecoming with S.O.
