& The Lion The Ladybug P H I M U F R A T E R N I T Y A T O L E M I S S SPRING 2025 B asketball has ended, baseball is in full swing, and the Grove is green again. Soon we will see another wonderful group of senior sisters graduate. I had a vested interest in this class, so they are close to my heart. I remember their Bid Day well. It was a brutally hot day, and we were all under a large tent with no access to the house or even the yard. But there were no shortages of smiles and hugs and pink— lots of pink! There was great anticipation of a beautiful new Phi Mu house on the horizon. We were lucky to have the kitchen for meals, but it was a long year. It feels like a long time ago. The memories that our seniors have of that day and of the past four years will be something they will revisit (just as we do) for many years to come. Their time at Ole Miss as Phi Mus with cherished friendships and meaningful experiences will prove to be the times of their lives. They are forever changed, and Phi Mu Alpha Delta played a big part in that. "To be to others what they would be to us." Godspeed, pledge class 2021. RECOGNITIONS, INVOLVEMENT, AND PHILANTHROPIC SUCCESS Phi Mu Leads the Way A lpha Delta has had an outstanding 2024-25 year marked by numerous achievements that highlight the dedication and hard work of our members. Our Chapter was nominated several times at the Fraternity and Sorority Life Greek Awards, and we received honorable mentions for Outstanding Chapter Advisor and Outstanding House Director. These recognitions were a significant honor for our Chapter, affirming the continuous efforts of our leaders in shaping Alpha Delta into a thriving and respected organization. These accomplishments were the result of tireless work from our members and leaders, whose commitment to excellence has created a positive and supportive environment within Phi Mu. Our philanthropic efforts were a major highlight this year. Alpha Delta was awarded first place in the Charity Bowl, a campus-wide event where Greek organizations compete to raise funds for a fellow organization. Julianna Scott '24 was named MVP at RebelTHON, our campus's dance marathon benefiting the Children's Miracle Network Hospital. Additionally, our Chapter was among the top sponsors for the entire event, showcasing our strong commitment to giving back. We also organized two significant philanthropic events this year, Cheesin' for Children and Bonnamu, contributing to a total of $38,000 raised for Children's Miracle Network Hospital in 2024. This doesn't even include the funds raised through our members' RebelThon sponsorships! On the academic front, our Chapter showed great progress. We saw a .05 increase in our collective GPA, highlighting our ongoing focus on academic excellence. Additionally, the number of members placed on academic accountability plans decreased significantly, further demonstrating our Chapter's commitment to supporting each member's educational goals. Members also made their mark across campus. Our involvement extends beyond our Chapter, with members holding leadership roles in various organizations such as orientation leaders, Homecoming Court, Student Government, cheer, lacrosse, and Diamond Girls. We also had two members serve as head recruitment counselors, 18 as recruitment counselors, and three on our Panhellenic Standards Board, further reflecting our commitment to leadership and service both within and outside the Panhellenic community.
